This accession consists of materials culled from the Waldo LaSalle Schmitt papers during processing; materials were maintained by Schmitt and transferred with his papers. Materials include notes, reports, drawings, photographs, specimen lists and correspondence, primarily concerning marine invertebrates; and a few materials regarding taxidermy, and United States National Museum administration and the National Museum building. Some correspondence is addressed to Richard Rathbun.
