Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of outreach records produced by the Constituent Outreach subgroup of the Community and Constituent Services Department. Constituent Outreach is responsible for the programs and services developed specifically to address the needs and concerns of the National Museum of the American Indian's (NMAI) Native constituencies. This includes coordinating the Native Arts and Native Audio programs; internships; visiting professionals programs; community museum workshops and tribal museum technical assistance programs; repatriation program; cultural activities programs; culturally sensitive collections management; and cultural protocol guidelines development. Included in this collection are materials related to the opening of NMAI on the Mall in 2004, promotional materials for the National Powwow, and guides to community services provided by the museum. Materials include brochures, picture postcards, serials, and compact discs. Some materials are in electronic format.
