This accession consists of the exhibition and publication records of both Charles Robertson (1986-2001) and Rachel M. Allen (2002- ) during their tenures as Deputy Director of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Some records date to when the museum was known as the National Museum of American Art. Materials consist of correspondence, memoranda, and clippings. Exhibitions represented include "American Impressionism: Treasures from the Smithsonian American Art Museum," "Arte Latino," "Contemporary Folk Art," "Gilded Age," "Lure of the West," and "The Furniture of Sam Maloof."
