Abstract

The field book primarily documents Bailey's field work from May 1896 through October 1896 in Oregon and West Virginia during January 1897. The first specimen is recorded at Norfolk, Nebraska on May 15, 1896. From Nebraska, Bailey moved through Wyoming to Oregon collecting, observing and writing lists of mammalian, reptilian, ornithological, and botanical scientific names. The item also includes a plant catalog containing genus and species information for various locations dated 1894-1896.
