This folder includes the field notes of Robert E. Silberglied from entomological field work conducted on the Galapagos Islands in 1970. The folder includes 1 volume of field notes as well as loose typed and hand written field notes. The field notes are narrative, and describe travel, collecting and field activities, observations of local culture and customs, and photographs taken. Also included are copies of notes to colleagues, expenses, itinerary information, rain data charts, some small sketches. Some sketches show insect nests, and tunnels through logs and possibly other organic materials. A crushed eggshell of land iguana (?) is taped into the book on page 87. Several hand-drawn maps of the islands are included throughout. Also included is a black and white photograph of an island with direction and areas marked off in pen. Localities include Charles Darwin Research Station and several of the islands including: Baltra, Chavez, Espaniola, Fernandina, Floreana, Genovesa, Isabela, Marchena, Pinzon, Pinta, Rabida, San Cristobal, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, Santa Maria, and Santiago
