Abstract

The album is a compilation of black and white photographs taken by William M. Mann as a member of the Philip Expedition to the Middle East. The album appears to be organized chronologically, beginning with images of a port, historic sites, local people in village and rural surroundings and then during the travels across arid regions with the use of camel caravan, including images of foreign and local expedition participants, at work and rest. Last images are of a region of sufficient elevation to have snow.
