Abstract

The photograph album (Volume 1) documents Alexander Wetmore's work in Panama in 1957. Photographs include numbers, dates, and captions with description and location. Subject matter includes lodgings; birds' nests and their environs; structures and airstrip at Mandinga; collected specimens; San Blas [Cuna] Indians (individuals, children and families); images on the trail; and colleagues. Locations include vicinity of San Blas, Rio Cangandi, Barro Colorado, and Mandinga. Includes photographs of Wetmore, Beatrice Thielen Wetmore, Adela Gomez, Carl Milton Johnson, and Pedro Galindo
