The expedition was conducted with the cooperation of the U.S. Navy, Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, and USDA. Photographs sometimes include numbers, date, and caption with description and location. Subject matter includes images of islands from offshore, portraits and candid images of crew members, offloading supplies and personnel to islands, camp sites, native ruins (including a Heiau), examples of island terrain and vegetation, examples of individual and groups of birds, portraits and candid images of expedition participants, collecting and processing specimens, examples of guano, and evidence of the effects of feather poachers. Some species documented, Boobies and Albatross, terns, and monk seals. Includes photographs of Wetmore, William G. Anderson, and Eric Schlemmer. Locations include the vicinity of Kaula, Nihoa, Neck, Johnston, Laysan Islands and French Frigate Shoals.
