NGS 32, Tawakoni, October 1966

Abstract

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, 1966 on the Northern Grid Survey 32, aboard the USS Tawakoni (ATF 114). Materials include: bird observation sheets, fix and position data, and climatological data sheets. Bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., hgt., and remarks. Remarks include physical descriptions of birds (colors, size, maturity), flock size, and behavior (sitting on water, feeding, etc.). Fix data sheets include date, time and position data, distance data, time of fix, type of fix, longitude, and latitude. Climatological data includes time, lat., long., pres wea, vis, slp, dry b, wet b, dew pt, hum%, tl sky, opa sky, waves, sea temp, wind s, wind d, course, speed. Also includes a typed report.
