Abstract

This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, 1963, on Southern Island Cruise 1. Includes both typed and handwritten materials recording observations of birds. Observation lists include: date, time, and geographic coordinates. Most, but not all, also include columns for birds observed (common names), and remarks. Remarks include quantity of birds, observations of bird location, flying pattern, direction, etc. Birds include Sooty terns, boobies, Laysan ducks, frigates, and others. Observations made aboard the USS Moctobi in the Northern Pacific Ocean.
