Abstract

The photograph album was compiled for Lucille Mann, and includes images taken during the National Geographic Society-Smithsonian Institution Expedition to the Dutch East Indies, 1937. Compiler is unknown. Subject matter includes the Manns and others; Batak people; native dancing; agricultural fields; portraits of collected animals, reptiles, and amphibians; informal scenes of animals interacting with each other and people. There are several images of primates interacting with tigers. Some photographs have captions.
