Abstract

The notebook documents Jenaro González Reyna 's field work with William Forshag on multiple trips to Paricutín Volcano in Mexico, July 1943-August 1945. It is a typed copy, in Spanish, and is a compilation of field notes and observations, each including a title page. Pages are numbered, and entries are dated. Entries describe daily activities; ongoing eruptions; details of odors, clouds and bombs emanating from the volcano; changes in the terrain and cone; details about Zapicho vent; nearby community of San Juan; and references to photographs. Some entries are headed with subjects. Toward the back is a history of the volcano and prior to the volcano's activity. This sections includes details about the towns and some individuals, with names. Includes illustrations.
