Abstract

Alexander Wetmore records observations of birds in and around North Freedom Wisconsin, during September 1889 to January 1900. The field notes are journal style entries, arranged by date. Pages are numbered. Locations are usually indicated in the first sentence, often specified by with a landowner's name or local landmark. Details include common names of birds observed, their physical characteristics, observed activities, descriptions of birdsongs, types of trees in which seen, and sometimes measurements of nests and weather conditions. He includes some personal details.
