Abstract

This is the personal diary kept by Waldo Schmitt on the Lower California Cruise of the Albatross, February 28 - May 9 (pp. 3 - 176) and the Chignik Biological Survey May 17 - September 11 and (pp. 177-185). Entries are dated, and include personal details of the voyage as well as information about collecting. Subject matter covers interactions with participants; daily events and narratives; his first time dredging (includes description); flora and fauna observed; accommodations; and destinations.
