Description

This collection record describes only the nine folders or field research related materials within the Smithsonian Institution Archives (SIA) collection "Doris Mable Cochran papers, circa 1891-1968". Information on other materials within this collection can be found in the the SIA finding aid listed under the "Related Items" section of this record. This collection contains documents pertaining to Cochran's collecting trips to South America in 1935 and 1962-1963. Included are the following: a travelogue (1962-1963), essays about collecting in Brazil (1935), brief and miscellaneous field notes from South American (1935); photographs of frogs from Colombia (1962); diary excerpts from her South America trip (1935); and maps of Colombia possibly from Cochran's 1962-1963 trip to South America.
