Description

This collection record describes only the five notebooks within the "A. Myra Keen Papers, circa 1918-1985 and undated, with family material dating from 1839", Smithsonian Institution Archives Record Unit 7333, containing field research information. For descriptions of other types of materials within Keen's personal papers, please refer to link to the finding aid in the "Related Items" portion of this record. A. Myra (Angeline Myra) Keen (1905-1986) was an expert on mollusks and is well known for her work in the lower California region. Keen's field notes range in date from 1925-1985. Three of the five notebooks relate to Keen's research in mollusks in California and Mexico, 1 notebook contains botanical notes, and 1 notebook contains notes on birds. None of the notes provide collector numbers and all contain very brief accounts of collecting events.
