Biographical History

Ellis Leon Yochelson (1928-2006) was a paleontologist and geologist who specialized in the study of fossil mollusks. He earned a Bachelors (1949) and Masters (1950) from the University of Kansas, and Ph.D. in geology (1955) Columbia University. Yochelson worked in the Paleontology and Stratigraphy Branch of the U.S. Geological Survey (1952-1985).
