In those days, it took Charles Lindbergh 33-1/2 hours to fly from Long Island to Paris. As well as the original plane in the Arts and Industries Building, there are many reproductions of this original and one was used in the film, “Men with Wings”. The whole plane weighed less than my car.

In a curious way this reminded me of the work of Gregory Crewdson, in particular his staged images of street scenes where he sets up everything to look like a crowd scene but with a difference. Although this image is not staged (presumably!) the moment is frozen in time allowing the viewer to study every aspect of the picture.
