Harry Bellinger, a secutiry guard who worked at the Museum the night of the inaugural ball, said in an interview that said that President Reagan had to attend eight separate balls that night, and the event at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum was his seventh stop. “The president got there late, something between 11 and 12 o’clock. He had a very big and long night. He spent about 20-to-30 minutes at each ball. At our event, visited, danced at each one with his wife, Nancy, and then they whizzed him off to the next ball.” I have to say, the First Couple look quite fresh to me in that picture, despite being their 7th stop of the night, and close to midnight!
